Graphic Design: 'Pleats Please'
Over the past twenty years Japanese graphic designer, Taku Satoh, has continued to visually depict the pop cultural essence of renowned diffusion line 'Pleats Please' by fashion designer Issey Miyake. Taku utilizes the iconic folds of fabric by virtually transforming them into various land & sea animals, fruits, florals, and even delectable desserts. “I wanted to create a visceral reaction; something akin to ‘that looks delicious’ and ‘I want to wear that," says Satoh. Miyake's pleated garments include an assortment of tops, pants, dresses, and scarves that provide unanimous appeal and aim to be accessible for everyone. The pleated creations also deliver incredible durability + mobility.
