Product Design: Erin Smith

Minneapolis-based mixed-media artist, Erin Smith, earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in product design from Parsons, and since then has worked to create lamps, mugs, candle holders, and other home goods in her Minnesota studio. Her whimsical and playful ceramic accessories possess squiggly shapes, chunky forms, gradient + speckled patterns, and cheeky colors that are reminiscent of Ettore Sottsass' work (of the Memphis Group). All of her products are handcrafted which means no two are identical and are composed of porcelain bases and glass tubing.
