Art Direction: Marius Sperlich

Berlin-based photographer + art director, Marius Sperlich, assists in staging suggestive and intimate scenarios shot at close range - a macro photographic point of view which was ultimately inspired by the meticulous details of a lover's facial features - and also by the lack of work space he had to utilize in his apartment.

Not only did this inspire Sperlich to snap images in close proximity to his subjects, but also influenced the incorporation of minuscule props and action figures as well, with assistance in concept + art direction from makeup artist Joanna Bacas. Everyday items juxtaposed against areas of the body such as the eyes, lips, and breasts make these scenarios mundane turned unorthodox.
